Legionnaires of the first and second divisions and Company A of the third division wear a kepi cover of the same material and design as the modern one. They are made by cloth merchants in the companies' towns and are thus of a slightly different shade of blue. Most of the kepis of the original legion (between 1890 and 1913) survive in the French Army Museum. They were made of white cotton, trimmed with a red neck band and black tassel as well as being embroidered with a white cross in the middle and Legion insignia around the edges. When the legion was reformed in 1913 they were made of blue cotton with the legion's red and white cross embroidered on the cover. These are still seen today on the shoulders of the legion's officers and of senior noncommissioned officers. A legionnaire's kepi cover was originally suspended in the same way as the modern one but in the early 1950s the fabric became too expensive to embroider and was replaced by a metal clasp which now serves to suspend the cover. The Franco-German Legion was originally dressed in the same style as the original legion but when it was disbanded in 1894 reverted to the French Army uniform. Its members wore a kepi cover of the same material and design as the modern one as well as the same headdress and uniform as the legion's artillery units.
The modern Foreign Legion's kepis are made of cotton, buffed to a gleam, and coloured to match the officers' branch colour. The head part is cloth-covered with a metal conical crown and embroidered around the edge. The kepi crown, which has a small vertical black stripe, is attached to the cover by a band with a small metal pin. The kepi covers are usually made of light blue cotton with a short front lappet and a full back neck. The kepi is suspended by two metal clasps and one metal pin. The whole unit is distinguished by the '''franchiéres''' (French Foreign Legion) badge on the crown. In recent years the Legion has seen a growing number of dark blue kepis made of cotton with embroidered Legion insignia on the cover.[128][129]
The legion's berets are made of white canvas or cotton, with a green centre. The berets were never issued in the original khaki material of the legionnaires, which has since been adopted by the French Army and is now standard issue. The legion's traditional blue beret, however, has survived into the 21st century, worn by both officers and junior ranks. The white beret is in place of the traditional branch colour of the Legion.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
