Arashi holds a special place in the Japanese pop world. Over the course of its career, the group has had great success as a top-selling singer-songwriter in Japan, topping the Oricon charts 7 times, including two consecutive years from 2003 to 2004. Arashi has also ranked highly on the Billboard charts in the U.S. and in Hong Kong, China. In addition, Arashi has received awards and nominations from numerous organizations such as the Japan Record Award, the Golden Disc Award, the Japan Gold Disc Award, the Anime Grand Prix, the Tokyo Anime Award Festival, the Japan Composer's Association Award, and the Japan Academy. Arashi's first album, released in 2002, was a multiple-time Japan Record Award and an Animage Music Video Award winner. Their fifth studio album, All About Colors, was recognized by the Japan Music Critics as the best album of the year. Arashi's original soundtrack for the film My Bride Is the Mafia was nominated for the Animage Music Video Award in 2013.
Arashi is also noteworthy for its strong and consistent fan base. The group, primarily a male-driven group, frequently speaks about the tight bond between the group's fan base and its members, saying that it does not matter to them whether they are a male fan or female fan, a high school student or a 30-year old, a daily commuter or a career-woman, so long as the fans can understand the group's words, movements, and performance. To distinguish themselves from other idol groups, Arashi tries to display a close relationship with its audience, and perform songs that are socially relevant. Arashi is a group that provides a message of love towards each other and towards society, and they always try to speak about the problems and issues that are relevant to this country. Arashi's musical style is influenced by Western genres such as R&B, Pop, Rock and J-Pop.
While Arashi has held numerous concerts and released many albums, they seem to be getting more and more popular, and the members of the group are also getting more and more mature and experienced. This is shown in the fact that the members of Arashi frequently look into the audience, give signs to the fans, and sing together, while all the members of Arashi appear in their own PVs for the songs they sing. This is a phenomenon that was actually started by Tetsuya, after he sang a song on his own on the stage of the first dome tour, and the fans started to sing along. After this, the members of Arashi got more and more used to performing in this manner, and now, the fans are demanding this from the Arashi. This is also a symbol of their maturing and becoming more experienced.
The single was a hit, and it was the first time in two years that Arashi released a single which gained enough sales to surpass the 10,000 mark. With the single, Arashi also released a live performance video and music video of the song, both of which were performed at their Oahu concert. Arashi was also nominated for MTV Video Music Awards Japan in the Best Live Performance category for the concert. 827ec27edc
